4th September 1962 marked the second recording session of The Beatles at Abbey Road. They rehearsed several songs, including 'PS I Love You' and 'Tip of my tongue', but George Martin chose 'Love me do' and 'How do you do it?'. The Beatles suggested their own song 'Please, Please me', which Martin agreed to record in a faster tempo. Martin realized that The Beatles were a new type of group without a frontman and backing band, and he was willing to work with them despite initial doubts about their songwriting abilities.
